Error 1: Entering ihram after passing the point of consecration. If you have passed the miqat without entering ihram, you MUST return to the point of consecration to enter it or, if this is impossible, perform a sacrifice as compensation.
This error does not invalidate the Hajj if you correct it immediately.
Error 2: Wearing perfume or covering the shoulders incorrectly in ihram. If you have applied perfume unintentionally before or during ihram, you must make expiation. A light compensation - charity to the poor of Mecca, a piece of clothing, or another charitable act - is generally sufficient.
This is not a serious violation requiring the sacrifice of an animal.
Error 3: Shaving or cutting hair accidentally in ihram. If it is unintentional and happens only once, minor compensation is sufficient. If it is repetitive or intentional, greater compensation may be required.

Errors of Tawaf and How to Correct Them
Error 4: Performing tawaf in the wrong direction. If you circulated around the Kaaba clockwise instead of counterclockwise, this is a serious error.
This tawaf must be redone completely in the correct direction. If you did not realize the error and left, you must return to Mecca and redo the tawaf.
Error 5: Losing count and completing 6 or 8 circuits instead of 7. If you realize the error before finishing, you can correct it immediately by performing the missing circuit or completing the seventh circuit.
If you have completed and left, you must redo the tawaf entirely.
Error 6: Losing ritual purity during tawaf. If you need to use the restroom or your ablution breaks during the tawaf, you MUST redo your ablution and restart from the beginning of the circuit you were performing.
Do not continue without purity.
Errors of Sa'i and How to Correct Them
Error 7: Performing the sa'i before the tawaf. This is a major violation of the prescribed order. If it has already been done, you must redo the tawaf first, then perform the sa'i after. The sa'i already completed does not count.
Error 8: Losing count of the circuits and performing 6 or 8 circuits. Similar to the tawaf, if you realize it immediately, complete the seventh circuit correctly. If you have already finished and left, you must redo the entire sa'i.
Errors at Arafat and Muzdalifah
Error 9: Leaving Arafat before sunset on the 9th day. This is a GRAVE violation that renders the Hajj completely invalid. You MUST remain at Arafat until official sunset.
If you left too early, you must repeat the Hajj the following year.
Error 10: Not passing through Muzdalifah at all. Although less serious than missing Arafat, Muzdalifah is an important station. If you completely ignored it, your Hajj may be compromised.
Scholars vary on whether this is an omission requiring major compensation or a repetition, but it is clearly a serious error.
Stoning Errors and How to Correct Them
Error 11: Throwing less or more than 7 pebbles at each pillar. Each pillar must receive exactly 7 pebbles. If you have thrown 6, you must immediately throw an additional one.
If you have thrown 8 or more, there is generally no problem - only 7 count, and the extra ones do not cause difficulty.
Error 12: Performing the stoning in the wrong order. On the 11th and 12th days, the three pillars must be stoned in order: small, middle, then large. If you made an order error, you must correct it immediately by returning to the pillars and completing the correct order.
Failing to correct this makes the stonings invalid.
Error 13: Throwing pebbles of questionable size or source. The pebbles must be of appropriate size (neither too large nor too small) and must come from Muzdalifah.
If you have used pebbles from questionable sources, consult a scholar on whether you must throw again or not.
